Holly A. Harrison
Holly Harrison, the founding member of Harrison Law LLC, has over 30 years of experience in complex commercial litigation, and has extensive first-chair trial and appellate experience in a variety of substantive areas. As a partner in the Chicago office of one of the most preeminent global law firms, she held a number of leadership positions, including practice group head for the Chicago General Litigation Practice Group, and co-global team leader of the Complex Commercial Litigation practice area team. Holly founded Harrison Law LLC in order to continue serving the same kinds of clients she served at her prior firm, but with the flexibility, efficiency, and value that only a smaller firm can provide.
Holly's substantive expertise spans a number of practice areas: business tort and business contract litigation, civil RICO, trade secret and unfair competition litigation, shareholder litigation, class actions, False Claims Act / qui tam litigation, insurance disputes, fiduciary litigation, trust disputes and contests, will contests, employment discrimination, and bankruptcy and insolvency litigation. She also has expertise in data privacy and security law, and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US, CIPP/E) and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Holly has extensive first-chair trial experience, and has successfully tried a number of cases in state and federal courts, including both jury trials and bench trials, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex disputes. She also has experience in domestic and international commercial arbitrations. Some of the cases Holly successfully has tried to verdict include:
- a two-month business tort and RICO jury trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida on behalf of a large international banking and investment company in which the client received a $30 million judgment
- a trial in federal court in Madison, Wisconsin with respect to an earn-out provision in a stock purchase agreement that resulted in a $15 million judgment in our client’s favor
- a trial in a business fraud dispute for control of a United States subsidiary of an international manufacturing company, resulting in a directed verdict in favor of the client/defendant
- representation of international investment bank as a secured creditor with a nine figure interest in the debtor company in a contested bankruptcy confirmation proceeding, where our client was awarded control of the debtor company
- representation of executor of $50 million estate in a will contest, resulting in enforcement of a favorable settlement
- successful defense of Fortune 500 company in commercial real estate brokerage dispute, resulting in a favorable jury verdict on our client’s counterclaims
Holly also has extensive appellate expertise and has successfully handled a number of appeals in state and federal courts. She has authored Amicus briefs in the United States Supreme Court and state supreme courts.
Her current and recent representations include Fortune 100 and 500 domestic corporations, multi-national foreign corporations with worldwide operations, and individuals who are officers, directors and shareholders of closely held corporations, and corporate or individual fiduciaries. Her clients are in a wide array of industries, including manufacturing, insurance brokerage, health care, financial services, retail, telecommunications, and engineering. She has also participated in pro bono matters throughout her career.
